Ultra violet - Pantone color of the 2018
The colour violet is completely unsuitable for the walls as far as you’re not crazy people.

Every year Pantone announce the colour of the year. The colour of 2018 is ultra violet and that’s the worst colour that I remember out of the 5 former years. In my subjective opinion, that’s the worst colour for the interior. It perfectly fits for wedding and is liked among newlyweds but in interior the colour violet looks to say so not so good.
Just enter “violet interior” or “purple interior” to Google. Such “beauties” will open that it’ll be difficult to imagine how to like this violet and get attached to it at home. My Instagram followers also accepted my opinion. 68 % of voted didn’t like the colour of next year, either. I’ve spent a lot of time looking for the examples and there’re my conclusions:
- The colour violet is completely unsuitable for the walls as far as you’re not crazy people;
- If you’re following the last trends I’d offer you to confine yourself to violet pillows or violet flowers. Only that.
- Please choose not that shade chosen by Pantone but the darker, the lighter and the one which has red tones. These kinds of furniture don’t look so provocative and the eyes are not so resistive because of their abundance.
- The colour violet matches with the following colours: white, black, grey, creamy and dark blue. The colour yellow will also fit everywhere but I’d offer not to trample down with this combination.
Violet furniture looks really good in some cases, however, I don’t imagine such interiors in Lithuania. I’m talking about this standard violet. If we pass through to its shades I see more of wild pastel purple and dark rich purple. These shades are rather liked in classical interiors (especially in bedrooms). Women really like bright violet curtain or bedding, and the bedroom is probably the only room where the violet of suitable shade doesn’t disturb me, well, with regards to colour examination, the colour violet associates with magic, secrets and spirituality.
