Colorful and wallpapered ceiling - an exclusive solution!

Please let me guess. Probably while establishing your own premise you had no idea about colourful or wallpapered ceiling? And for what, you’d tell? Well, the colour white is the best solution for the ceiling! Yes, if you want to choose the lightest and the safest way, and no if you wish exclusiveness.

In this post I’ll not talk and not show photos where ceilings are made of concrete, completely wooden or with beams, and there’re interesting plasterboard / stretch ceiling constructions. That’s not the news. Well, and the ceilings patterned in different patterns, bright or wallpapered ceilings is completely unusual and not comfortable (at least in Lithuania).

So that you dare to use one of these solutions for your home you need to have either a great imagination or a sixth sense which wouldn’t let one be mistaken, or to ask a designer a visualisation or other necessary help. Well, I’m sure you need to admit that it is a brave solution which needs to match with the whole interior. 

Several tips from my side:

• If you want the ceiling to become a focus – the walls, floor and furniture should be of different (desirably, calmer) colours. In such case eyes look at the top and premise somehow looks higher. That cannot be applied if the colour or the wallpapers are dark. Then the premise gets low optically.
• A rather usual solution is to match the part of walls and the ceilings with the same colour. In one case, you can make the wall look further and, in another case, you can create a separate room in a room (as in the example of the restaurant with green walls and ceilings).

Don’t be afraid to experiment. Wallpapers on sloped ceiling look especially beautiful because due to their construction it seems that the ceilings switch to the wall and they don’t bother the eyes (at least for me). Of course, while gluing wallpapers on the ceilings it’ll be hard to come by (at least 2 people are needed for that) but I think it’s worth doing for the result!
