Bedroom interior design needs the lowest quantity of furniture but the bed must be as comfortable as possible (well, maybe not a bed, but a mattress). I'm not going to talk a lot about this room because there are just several main “rules” and everything else you can do according to your taste so that you could have a comfortable and good sleep – after all, that is the main function of a bedroom.
First of all, think if a closet is going to be just a wardrobe and commode or you want a separate room because an area of the room will definitely differ. Of course, it would be perfect to have bathroom somewhere close. There are also such solutions where bathroom is placed behind a glass partition in a very respectable place, however, I should say that it's a quite risky solution only because of the lack of privacy. By the way, the need for one more bathroom appears – you don't want your guests to see the most private place of the lords while going to the bathroom.
Again everything depends on your lifestyle and wishes. The most important thing is to leave at least 75 cm space from both sides of the bed so that you were free to walk over and/or put bedside tables there. Well, 50 cm could be if the bedroom is realy small.
Talking about lighting, an easy, not really bright, sparse lighting would be perfect. Light above the bed and both sides of the bed is obligatory (for reading, etc.).
It would be perfect if switches had switching – it's very comfortable when you are lazy to climb out of bed. Of course, don’t forget a natural day light, it would be indeed perfect if the sun shined through a room window – that kind of light is not too bright.
Concerning colors, that is each one’s freedom to choose, but traditionally calm earth’s colors and tones are chosen. The most important is that the environment you are going to live in did not bother you and make you feel having a rest, that is why I would suggest you not to use the color red because it's known for everybody that it induces pressure and stimulates an active work and emotions.
A drop of the color red wouldn’t really make a lot of harm – would make a mood passionate and it can be reached by bedding, after all, it's not obligatory to paint the walls in red and you should consider that a repainting of the walls is much more expensive than a change of bedding.
Well, and one more piece of advice which is not really related to an interior: to resist a TV in a bedroom. You should admit that it's the realest enemy, attention and time destroyer (not to mention a computer). I agree that sometimes we are eager to watch a TV while comfortably lying in a bed, but practically “sometimes” always changes into “always” and, in a consequence, you have less time for sleep and for a spouse.
