Blackboard originally is designed for teachers to write on it, but today it's not a surprise if this board appears in somebody’s home (not for learning purposes).
An especially frequent case – in various cafes, mostly coffee-inn type, blackboards are used for fitting menu on them. At home it's possible to fit it in the kitchen, on furniture, in a children’s room (probably each mother would be glad her child to draw not on the wall, but on a place appropriate for that).
Of course, a blackboard has its own disadvantages: while drawing, a chalk is falling on the floor and you can make you cloths dirty, but the fact itself that in any time a view can be renewed by other drawings and notes and mark some important information enforces to forget a bit about those disadvantages.
